Before connecting your phone to the cable, make sure no Java Applications are running, it is best to power off and power back on your phone before running the program or you may get a "Phone busy" error message.
From your start menu or desktop, you can click the myJal link and the program will launch.
From there, you may click the UNLOCK button, and unlock
After you Unlock, go to Settings, and Check off the box Enable USB Connection or you will get an error trying to connect to the phone.
After the settings, you must click the CONNECT TO PHONE button and do not touch your phone while it connects.
After you are connected, you will see the menu on the side offering loading screens for Ringtones, Wallpapers, and Java Applications. Go to the corresponding category, Add your selected files, and then Download them to the phone!
When loading ringtones, the standard ringtones in the Add-files dialog box will only show the MIDI ringtones, if you will notice, underneath the file selection dialog box, there is a drop down menu (indicated by an arrow) that by default indicates MIDI files, you can select WAV files from the drop down list and load WAV ringers onto your phone if you are using an i530, i730,i860, i830, i205 and higher model phone. WAV ringtones ARE NOT compatible with older versions such as the i95, i90.
PLEASE NOTE: Some Midi ringtones will give you a general communications error if they are too long. All MIDI ringers should be 30 seconds or less, or in the case of MP3 or Wav ringers, less then 300,000k. To shorten midi files, please view your utilities folder in the> MIDI SHORTEN SOFTWARE. We have full instructions as well. To make your own voice ringtones, go to the WAV CONVERSION utilities FOLDER
PLEASE NOTE: If ringtone files with filenames longer than 20 characters need to be shortened or you will get an error telling you this. To do this simply right click and click rename. The file will be highlighted blue.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MAY SEE AN OPTION FOR MP3 RINGTONES, THIS FEATURE IS CURRENTLY ONLY SUPPORTED ON THE NEWER IDEN PHONES.
After you have selected what files you want, just click the Upload to Phone button and the software will download ringtones/wallpapers/java applications to your phone!
Again, do not touch your phone until the dialog box - All downloads successfully completed appears.
When you are finished, please click the Disconnect from phone button, wait until it disconnects from your phone, and then click the LOG OUT button and exit the program.
You can now browse your phones ringtones or wallpaper selection and your new downloads will appear.
PLEASE NOTE: If you attempt to load non-standard type ringtones or wallpapers(ie: animated wallpaper or more than 8khz wav files, these files will not appear on your phone- please make sure you are downloading compatible ringtones!)
To delete ringtones/games/wallpapers you have installed, scroll to desired item installed on the phone, press the menu and an option for Delete or Uninstall will appear. Select the option and the item will be removed from your phone. This program will expire. However you can patch it and use it all you want. PROBLEMS UPLOADING RINGTONES:
1- I am browsing the Mp3/Wav directories when browsing for files but the directories are blank. A- On the bottom of the file selection box, there is a drop down menu labeled: FILES OF TYPE: If it says MIDI, it will only display midi, change to the type of file you want to upload and it will display what you select.
2- MP3 Ringtones will not load on my phone. A- Mp3 ringtones will ONLY load on the i860, i930, no other phones support uploading mp3s. B- Mp3 ringtones from your computer must be converted to the format supported by the phone in order to be uploaded. We include conversion software and instructions in the UTILITIES directory.
3- When uploading a ringtone, I get an error stating that the filename is too long. A- Sometimes for identification purposes, ringtones are longer than the max allowed size (20 characters), in order to transfer them to your phone, you must copy them to your desktop, rename the file and then browse to your desktop or other directory on your computer you saved the file. If you still have problems, see step 4.
4- MIDI ringtones give me a General Communication Error. A- Your phone may not support full length MIDI ringtones, you will need to use the Midi shortening software in the utilities folder. We include both Full length and shortened midis for you to choose and upload. Because it is very hard to convert to MIDI, we have included plenty of popular songs already converted to midi so you can pick the part you like as your ringer!
